2017 Annual Conference
In 2017, the Atlantic Provinces Political Science Association’s annual conference was held at the Université de Moncton (Moncton campus) on the weekend of October 13-15. The conference theme was “Canada’s 150th Anniversary: Perspectives from the Atlantic Region.” The keynote speaker was the Honourable Wade MacLauchlan, Premier of Prince Edward Island.
2016 Annual Conference
In 2016, the Annual Meeting was held at University of New Brunswick Saint John on the northern shores of the Bay of Fundy in Saint John, New Brunswick, October 14-16. The conference theme was “Politics at the Tipping Point” allowing for a discussion of political institutions, policies, cultures, societies and movements at a critical juncture. This year’s conference featured guest speakers Richard Salliant (Université de Moncton) and Christine Saulnier (Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives).

2015 Annual Conference
The 2015 APPSA Annual Meeting was held at Mount Saint Vincent University in beautiful coastal Halifax, Nova Scotia, September 25-27. The conference theme was “Political Science in Action: Research for Social Change,” allowing for a focused discussion on political alternatives, strategies, visions and transformations. The keynote speaker was Dr. Cynthia Enloe, world-renowned scholar in feminist international relations.

2014 Annual Conference
The Annual General Conference of the Atlantic Provinces Political Science Association was held October 3-5, 2014, at Memorial University, St. John’s.
St. John’s is Newfoundland and Labrador’s largest city, and sometimes claimed as the oldest city in North America. October is locally thought of as one of the best times to visit. The airport, which offers frequent service to all major Canadian centres and connections to Europe and the United States, is located in close proximity to conference hotels and the meeting space at Memorial University.
